Private workshops

Looking for a truly unique experience? Book a private workshop for a small group at a time that suits you.

This workshop lasts one hour.

I have organized many workshops like this for visitors from countries such as the United States, Belgium, and Germany. I often tailor the session to specific requests—for instance, if your company specializes in a particular area or uses specific ingredients or products. I enjoy accommodating these kinds of requests; no question is too unusual.

Content

In one hour, you will learn all about liquorice: its history, the ingredients used, and how liquorice culture varies from country to country. After a brief introduction covering topics such as liquorice root and Sweden, gum arabic and apothecaries, block liquorice and tins, Pliny and Pontefract, and much more, we get to work.

You get to taste all the raw ingredients. By taking a "liquorice journey through Europe," you will sample a wide variety of unique liquorice treats and experience the difference between standard confectionery and high-quality liquorice. You will get hands-on experience using mortars, stamps, spoons, rollers, and pans, with each participant creating their own liquorice dough and finished liquorice.

The workshops are held in a 17th-century warehouse.
